Camu Camu

Camu Camu is a small cherry-like fruit wild-harvested along the banks of the Amazon River. Extracts from the fruit, which is extremely acidic in flavor and typically diluted with milk or water, contain approximately 30 times the amount of Vitamin C found in oranges. Camu Camu oil, which is also rich in iron and amino acids, is one of the most antioxidant ingredients known. Camu Camu extracts diminish the appearance of fine lines. Ellagic acid, an antioxidant that protects the skin against free radicals, works actively to help firm, tone, tighten and brighten the complexion. Because it contains iron, niacin, riboflavin, phosphorus, potassium, beta-carotene, calcium and amino acids, Camu Camu helps produce collagen that aids in the reduction of hyper-pigmentation and scarring and boosts anti-inflammatory agents that may soothe skin.
