Our favorite Brazilian spa and longevity expert starts off 2025 with a self-care ritual rooted in cleansing and renewal. Take inspiration from her nature-soaked approach to re-energize mind, body, and spirit:

I’ve always found immense power in grounding myself in ritual—simple acts that help me reflect, release, and set intentions for the year ahead. For me, the connection between nature, water, and energy has always been sacred, and there’s no better way to step into the new year than with a ritual rooted in cleansing and renewal.

This year, I’m channeling one of Brazil’s most beautiful traditions: the cleansing dip in the sea during New Year’s celebrations. It’s said to wash away the energies of the past year and invite in peace, clarity, and new blessings. With this in mind, I’ve created my own version at home—a ritual bath that mirrors this sacred connection to water, salt, and nature.

Renata’s Ritual

STEP 1: Set the Space

Before starting, I create an atmosphere of peace. I light a Costa Brazil Jungle Candle, and turn on soothing sounds—waves crashing, birds calling. I want to feel like I’m at the edge of the sea, where everything slows down.

STEP 2: Release with Salt

I pour Costa Brazil Sal de Banho Bath Salt into warm bath water, letting its earthy and mineral-rich essence dissolve. It’s infused with Brazilian white clay and detoxifying Epsom salts—a gentle nod to the ocean’s ability to cleanse the body and spirit. As I watch it dissolve, I take a moment to breathe deeply and whisper my intention: “I release what no longer serves me. I invite renewal and balance.

STEP 3: Immerse the Body

I sink into the water, imagining it as a mirror of the sea—embracing me, cleansing me, and softening all that feels heavy. For a few moments, I close my eyes and let the warmth wrap my whole self. This is a sacred pause, a time to honor the growth and the challenges of the year past.

STEP 4: Visualize Your Intentions

With my body relaxed, I begin to visualize: What do I want to feel, create, and embody in the new year? Instead of focusing on tasks, I focus on energy—peace, love, joy, clarity. I imagine these intentions washing over me like waves.

STEP 5: Exhale for Renewal

Before stepping out, I imagine leaving behind anything that I no longer need—fears, doubts, and old patterns. I emerge renewed, as if I’ve taken a dip in Brazil’s cleansing sea.
