Father's Day approaches. It happens to fall in June, which is national Pride month.

To spotlight and celebrate both, we spoke with with friend-of-COSTA BRAZIL Justin van Fleet. He and his husband Fabian Bernal are raising a son, and here, he speaks to the highs (and challenges) of being a dad. Happy Father's Day, all!

What makes fatherhood so special to you?

We have learned so much in such a short period of time from being fathers. It is a special feeling to help a little human grow up, and it has fully changed our perspective on life.

What are you most proud of in being a father?

We are so proud each day when our son does something new or makes a new connection—a new sound, movement, expression or watching him develop his own personality. And when he smiles, seeing his face light up and knowing he is happy... this is the proudest moment of all.

What is the most challenging or daunting thing about the role, and how have you overcome it?

Being responsible for the protection, health, safety and upbringing of a child is a huge responsibility that seemed daunting at first. But it has strengthened the two of us as a team. By working together, everything seems less daunting and the possibilities become endless.

We have to ask, as you're close to the brand: what is your favorite COSTA BRAZIL product?

We appreciate the creativity and innovation that go into COSTA BRAZIL's sustainable products. If we had to pick just one, we'd say the AROMA perfume. It's incredible.
