The Five Senses | Andrew Everett | Smell
Scent can elicit powerful memories, otherwise forgotten. When the right aroma strikes, we’re transported back to a moment laid to rest, in the recesses of our minds, and that moment is brought to the forefront again. Smell is the Sense of memory. And also the sense of longing. The warm scent of those we love, no longer with us. The vivid ruminations brought on by the wafting memories of young love, or childhood happiness. Time is not fixed when our olfactory sense is activated, but rather presented as a landscape of memories to visit, and evocations to explore.
Scent is a layered experience. Notes on the top coincide with notes in the middle and communicate with notes below, on the bottom. Like our memories, it’s a holistic experience, and can change drastically based on the person wearing it. This is something Andrew Everett understands, intimately. Andrew is a master at creating and identifying scents. A graduate of ISIPCA in Paris and IFF, Andrew believes in the voice and the choice of scent. That there is power in the aroma with which we all choose to align.
Costa Brazil’s commitment to this, to bottling the essence of Brazil with our award winning Aroma Eau de Parfum, is perfectly aligned with the brightest and best in the fragrance industry. The notes you’ve come to love, Brazil Orange, Geranium Bourbon, and Cypriol just to name a few, are the evocations of Brazil’s brilliant nature and persisting fortitude of elemental excellence. The peace of mind, balance, and focus you feel when a spray of our oil based aroma caresses the nose is why we’re pleased to feature a community staple for our most reminiscent sense, Smell.
